Three years ago on Valentine’s Day I asked friends and family for their thoughts on love. And the manifold and thoughtful responses touched my heart deeply.

If you ask one thousand people what love is to them, you will get one thousand different answers. Love is so unique to everyone and yet, it is the universal language that we all understand. As human beings. As living creatures with a body, mind and soul.

We love our partners, our children, we love our parents and our friends. We have love for our people, for animals and quite often ice-cream. And above all, I hope that we all have a love for ourselves.

Because deep inside YOU, that’s where it begins. That’s where you create magic, compassion. Where you learn to give up a part of your ego, for the better good of someone dear to your heart.

With these thoughts, I wish you all a happy Valentine’s Day to celebrate LOVE in all its shapes and colors, loud and quiet, passionate and selfless.

When everything else is gone, when we are stripped naked of our clothes, judgements and fear: Love is the residue. Pure and divine.

Celebrate this deep connection. Today and on any other day.
