Those words are written on my favorite mug, in gold letters, and they do cheer me up every once in a while when things get rough. I know, ’tis the season to be merry and bright. But it is also true, that this time of the year can be very stressful for many of us, hard and fogged up by grief or sorrow from the past. Or the present.
Now I do wish you a wonderful time with your family and friends for the holidays. But do know: Even if it doesn’t work out that way, that’s okay too. We all get to try again. And from today on (winter solstice!) the days will grow longer again and the light will come back. It always does.
Our year as a family has been a rollercoaster ride into a new life in a new country. And it’s still going up and down 🙂 Yet, we feel blessed, being together and in good health.
So here is to YOU, to life and love and to the good things that await us.
“Don’t you know yet?
It is your light
that lights the world.”
Rumi
Merry Christmas and a magical 2018 to all of you!
